Kodo Millets vupma preparation :

1 Kodo Millets 1 cup

2 Water 3 cups

3 Onion 1 piece

4 Green chillies 4 pieces

5 Ginger 1/2 inch

6 Carrot 1 piece

7 Turmeric 1/4 tea spoon

8 Oil 2 table spoon

9 Mustard seeds 1 tea spoon

10 Urad dal 2 tea spoon

11 Chana dal 1 tea spoon

12 Curry leaves 1 bunch

13 Taste to Salt

COOKING PROCESS :

Rinse 2 or 3 times a day and remove the water and set aside. Once the oil in the pan is boiled the put in musterd seeds urad dal chana dal after frying add on chopped onion chopped green chillies chopped ginger curry leaves and Turmeric frying one minute next add carrot add the kodo cereals and mix well and fry for one minute all together then add 3 cups water and taste salt and mix well and cook on lid upma cooked with sambaru or chutney a diet made with kodo cereals is very useful for weight loss
